Introduction

Ryan is a Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor (License #15306), having received her MS degree from East Carolina University’s Counselor Education program in 2019, with dual certification in Clinical Mental Health and School Counseling. She is a National Certified Counselor (NCC #1232341) and a Qualified Clinical Supervisor through the North Carolina Board of Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselors. She has experience with clients of all ages, demographics, and varying needs and has spent a majority of her time in the community mental health setting in a director role. Prior to this, she worked as an elementary school counselor for three years. Ryan transitioned to private practice work in 2023. Ryan is passionate about taking a person-centered approach to the therapeutic relationship, believing clients can thrive in a non-judgmental and empathetic environment. Ryan seeks to establish genuine trust with her clients, aligning herself in the role of advocate as you partner together, where you feel heard and valued. Drawing from person-centered, cognitive behavioral, and some systems approaches, Ryan believes that treatment should be tailored to the client’s unique needs and preferences. Ryan will seek to incorporate cultural, spiritual, physical, and mental needs in an effort to connect all aspects of self. She enjoys integrating creative hands-on activities, as well as exploring topics including, but not limited to: anxiety/depression, women’s issues, boundaries, expectations, mindfulness, intimacy, adjustments, identity, family of origin, parenting, and marriage.
