Therapy with me is more than a conversation—it’s a collaborative and meaningful process centered around understanding you as a whole person. I believe clients are the experts in their own lives, and my role is to help create space for insight, growth, and meaningful change. My approach blends the science of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT)—a practical, evidence-based approach that explores the connection between thoughts, feelings, and behaviors—with a broader understanding of how stress, relationships, environment, and the nervous system shape emotional well-being. I became a therapist because I believe people carry more strength and capacity within themselves than they often realize—and sometimes simply need the right support and environment to reconnect with it. Whether you are navigating anxiety, stress, relationship concerns, life transitions, self-esteem challenges, or feeling stuck in unhelpful patterns, I strive to provide a safe, supportive, and compassionate space where you feel understood and empowered. For more than 15 years, I’ve had the privilege of helping people navigate life’s challenges through both education and clinical experience. I am a Licensed Independent Social Worker of Clinical Practice (LISW-CP) in South Carolina, with a Bachelor of Science in Psychology from Wofford College and a Master of Social Work from the University of Denver. My background includes experience in inpatient psychiatry, residential treatment, community mental health, and private practice, all of which continue to shape the way I support clients today. In addition to my clinical work, I have contributed to conversations surrounding resilience, healing, and the human–animal bond as a contributing author and editor of Transforming Trauma: Resilience & Healing Through Our Connections With Animals. I also serve on the board of the South Carolina Society for Clinical Social Work. Above all, my focus is on creating a grounded, supportive space where people can process challenges, strengthen self-understanding, and move toward lasting growth and resilience. I’m a Columbia, South Carolina native, married with two children, and we share our home with a spirited Australian Shepherd named Greta. Family and connection are at the center of my life, and outside of work I enjoy being outdoors, traveling, sharing good food with people I love, and finding meaningful experiences that bring people together. I offer in-person sessions at my Millwood Avenue office in Columbia, SC, as well as virtual sessions for your convenience. My practice is private pay only, with session fees ranging from $150 to $175. Upon request, I can provide a superbill for possible out-of-network insurance reimbursement. Please note that insurance reimbursement requires a formal mental health diagnosis. One of the most important parts of beginning therapy is finding the right fit. I’m happy to offer a brief phone consultation so we can discuss your needs and determine whether working together feels like a good match.
