Introduction

I became a therapist because I’ve always been drawn to the stories people carry and the ways those stories shape identity, relationships, and self-worth. Early in my career, I discovered how powerful it can be to help someone re-author a painful narrative and begin to see themselves with more compassion, agency, and possibility. Alongside my clinical training, I am a professor at the University of Maryland. I teach the Couples and Relationship Course and I am a training supervisor for the graduate marriage and family therapy students. I traveled to India to complete a 200-hour yoga teacher training, where I deepened my understanding of mindfulness, pranayama (breath work), and relaxation practices. These tools continue to shape my work today, helping clients connect mind and body in ways that support healing. My approach is trauma-informed, collaborative, and affirming. I draw from Narrative Therapy, Intuitive Eating, and DBT skills to help clients rewrite unhelpful stories, build emotional resilience, and find new ways of relating to themselves. Clients who work with me often describe me as warm, compassionate, and attentive. I strive to create a space where you feel understood and empowered as we work together toward your goals. I am currently licensed in MD, DC, VA, LA, PA, CA and available for teletherapy services.
