Introduction

You may be feeling overwhelmed. Like no matter what you do, the memories, tension, or sense of unease just won’t let up. Maybe you’re on edge, easily startled, or finding it hard to relax. Perhaps you feel numb or detached from the people you care about—or the past keeps intruding on your present through flashbacks, nightmares, or sudden waves of emotion. If you’re exhausted by the weight of trauma, distressing memories, or emotional disconnection, you are not alone. I work with adolescents, adults, and families to navigate the effects of trauma, post-traumatic stress, anxiety, and emotional pain with compassion, skill, and clarity. Together, we explore what’s happening beneath the surface—whether that’s unresolved grief, body-based reactions, or patterns that developed as a way to cope with overwhelming experiences. My approach is warm, direct, and collaborative, drawing on evidence-based practices such as Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT), mindfulness, and somatic awareness. EMDR is a highly researched and effective method that helps the brain reprocess distressing memories, reducing their emotional intensity and fostering deeper healing. I also consider the impact of family and relational dynamics, using a systems perspective to help clients build understanding, safety, and stronger connections. Healing from trauma takes courage, but it’s possible to find relief, regain balance, and reconnect with yourself and others. The first step can feel intimidating, but you don’t have to do it alone. Email me, and let’s see if we might be a good fit for your healing journey.
