Samantha Vasquez, MSW, LCSW, OSW-C is a bilingual (English and Spanish) Licensed Clinical Social Worker with advanced certification in Oncology Social Work. Samantha earned her Bachelor of Science from Universidad Central del Ecuador in Quito before pursuing higher education in New York, where she obtained her Master of Social Work (MSW) with a concentration in Clinical Social Work from Fordham University, Lincoln Center. Prior to her master's studies, Samantha volunteered at the former Breast Health Resource Program at Mount Sinai Hospital, serving as a health educator, community outreach interpreter, and co-facilitator for breast cancer patient support groups. She also worked as an Entitlement Coordinator at a prominent Manhattan advocacy center, where she connected patients with benefits and advocated for their healthcare needs. Her social work internships were completed at Mount Sinai Hospital within the R.E.A.P. (Resource, Entitlement, and Advocacy Program), pediatric asthma, and the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU). For ten years, Samantha served at Mount Sinai Kravis Children’s Hospital in the Division of Pediatric Hematology and Oncology, providing family-centered psycho-oncology care to children, adolescents, and young adults facing chronic and terminal illnesses. She offered emotional support, crisis counseling, psychotherapy, and resource management in collaboration with multidisciplinary teams. Subsequently, Samantha spent four years as a social work manager at a nationwide non-profit, leading a team of oncology social workers and nurses dedicated to enhancing the lives of cancer patients, caregivers, and families through personalized psychosocial support, education, advocacy, and resource management. Presently, Samantha is a clinical supervisor in an interstate private practice collective, where she is committed to mentoring new generations of mental health providers, and supports them in obtaining higher levels of licensure. These varied experiences have significantly deepened her understanding of the systemic influences on individuals' lives and the importance of providing comprehensive, compassionate mental health care.
