Introduction

I’m deeply committed to creating an inclusive and affirming space for all individuals, including members of the LGBTQIA+ community, the kink community, and sex workers. With a sex-positive and affirming approach, I offer support and guidance to clients exploring their identities, relationships, sexual experiences, and lifestyle changes. Whether you’re navigating questions of gender identity, sexual orientation, ethical non-monogamy, kink dynamics, or seeking sex therapy, I provide a non-judgmental environment where you can explore these aspects of yourself openly and authentically. In therapy, I approach each session with a deep understanding of how trauma can profoundly impact individuals’ lives. Utilizing a blend of evidence-based modalities such as Internal Family Systems (IFS), Acceptance and Commitment therapy (ACT), and somatic experiencing, I collaborate closely with clients to address the complex interplay of physiological, emotional, and cognitive aspects of trauma. My belief in the innate resilience of individuals drives me to empower clients, helping them cultivate their strengths and resources on their journey toward healing. Whether you’re struggling with past traumas, navigating current stressors, or seeking to understand the impact of intergenerational trauma, I am here to support you with compassion and expertise. If you’re ready to embark on a journey of self-discovery and personal growth, I invite you to reach out and schedule a free 15 minute phone consultation. Together, we can work towards fostering resilience, overcoming obstacles, and achieving your goals for a more fulfilling and balanced life. Sara Burleson is a Licensed Graduate of Social Work (LGSW) in DC and a Master of Social Work (MSW) in VA working towards her Independent Clinical Social Work (LCSW) license under the supervision of Tamara Pincus.
