Grief finds us in the most unlikely places often when we are least expecting it--a relationship ends, a serious illness emerges, a job transition leads to a loss of identity, we see something for the first or the thousandth time--and something in us cracks. If we allow it in, hold the complexity, examine it up close, reason things out with another person, it is my belief that our lives will be transformed. Throughout the therapeutic process, I believe wholeheartedly that there is both joy and sorrow, mystery and awe. I have an undergraduate degree from Providence College in Globalization and Social Justice and a Minor in Women's Studies. I received my Master's at the University of Denver School of Social Work with a concentration in Health and Wellness. I spent more than a decade serving in the Army in various roles. I have worked in healthcare (behavioral health, substance use, and palliative care) building close relationships with patients, staff, and providers. I have training and regularly use the following modalities in my practice: Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT), Internal Family Systems (IFS), Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR).
