When one person in a family is struggling, everyone feels it. I'm Sara Veillon, an EMDR-trained counselor in Katy and the founder of Mental Health Counseling Group, and I work with the whole family, not just the person in the chair. Helping one member of a family is a good start, but working with the family together is where transformation takes shape. I see couples navigating the complexities of marriage, entire family units with children from age 5 and up, and individual adults, because most of what we carry ties back to the family we came from or the one we are building now. My work is trauma-focused. EMDR is the approach I reach for most, and it is often what finally moves something that has not shifted in years, whether that is a single event you can name or a pattern you cannot. I meet people in person at Mental Health Counseling of Katy, in the heart of old Katy, and by telehealth anywhere in Texas. If you are not sure where to start, that is normal, and it is a reason to reach out rather than a reason to wait.
