I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and a Nationally Certified Cognitive Processing Therapist. I have also been trained in Brainspotting Level 2 am a Certified Financial Coach. I was formerly a police officer before transitioning to counseling which which helps me identify with those working in the first responder fields and the military. I earned my Master’s Degree in Social Work from the University of Alabama in 2008. I have a passion for learning and passing that learning along to help clients learn about their strengths and how to pull from those in difficult times. Life can deal some heavy blows and sometimes it’s nice to be able to talk it through with an unbiased person who will listen and understand. That is where therapy can help. Whether you are a teenager navigating the challenges of growing up or an adult trying to find your way forward, therapy can be a place to slow down, get to know yourself a little better, and begin creating meaningful, lasting change. I work with teens and adults with a variety of diagnoses from ADHD, depression and anxiety, to PTSD, OCD, and bipolar. I also work with people who have everyday life challenges like parent/child estrangement, job frustrations, and an overall feeling of being lost and overwhelmed. Together we will look at the thoughts, behaviors and experiences that are keeping you stuck and we will work together to come up with solutions to get “unstuck”.
