I started my counseling career in Nebraska in 2009, and worked there until 2022 when I moved to Montana. I started out working with young adults ages 16-24 who were unhoused or living in complex family situations, and many were affiliated with the Lakota tribe of South Dakota. I moved into community mental health work from there for a few years. I enjoyed working with all ages and stages of life during my time there. I then began working in private practice and group practice settings. I developed specialties in play therapy, Child Parent Psychotherapy, EMDR, and Circle of Security-Parenting and Classroom. I am committed to working with people who have experienced trauma, adopting modalities for any age. I believe trauma disrupts connection and counseling is a place for reconnection to ourselves and others. Our work is to uncover the wholeness that is already there. My therapeutic stance is primarily attachment focused because I have learned that we are all carrying the question of mattering. At the core of our being is often the question of whether we can been seen and known. Much of these answers stem from our earliest caregiving and the takeaways we lock in our hearts. May our time together soften these earliest of wounds.
