Whether you are new to therapy or seeking a new therapist, reaching out is a big and important first step. Even with all the noise around us, life can feel extremely lonely. You are not alone. Through our work together, my goal is to help you build meaningful connections with parts of yourself you may have suppressed or forgotten, with what you value most, with the people in your life, and with the world around you. I believe it’s through all these different connections that you can accept yourself, find meaning in your life, and fulfill your unique potential. I have experience with adolescents, college students, adults of all ages, and families. I welcome clients from all backgrounds and identities and provide support for people who are struggling with anxiety, depression, ADHD, addiction, gender identity, parenting, midlife and perimenopause transitions, and relationship issues. I work from a person-centered and existential approach and see each client as an individual with a unique perspective and experience of the world around them. I use techniques from different methods including CBT, DBT, Motivational Interviewing, Mindfulness, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, and sometimes even a little humor. Throughout my life I have been drawn to connecting with and accepting others as they are. I have had the privilege of working with people in the court system, in community agencies, in secondary and higher education, and in the hospital emergency department. It is my experience that we have all found creative ways to cope with the things that hurt. Sometimes those coping mechanisms that once helped can begin to cause pain. Learning new ways to cope and healing connections that have eroded often leads to a life that feels easier and less lonely.
