Welcome to my profile! As a clinical social worker for nearly two decades and in private practice for six years, my mission is to help hardworking, overwhelmed people find more peace, meaning and joy in their lives. I work with individual adults ages 18+. I specialize in: - Stress and overwhelm (sometimes also called anxiety and depression... I am not super focused on diagnosing, but I can and may screen you for these) - Life transitions - Relationship issues - Self-esteem - Parenting support - Foster care and adoption issues How I work: - My guiding principles as a counselor are curiosity and kindness. - Key to our work being helpful to you is a trusting rapport between us, so I work to build a relationship with you. - I also want you to walk away from each session feeling a little lighter, with at least one new insight and strategy to try. - I draw from Psychodynamic Theory, Attachment Theory, Acceptance and Committment Therapy, and Self-Compassion. What does this mean? It means I have both deep training on human behavior and relationships, as well as a toolbox of evidence-based strategies to help you reduce suffering and increase your efficacy and ease. Where I work: I offer three formats for counseling... - In-person at my office in Madrona, Seattle - For female clients, walk-and-talk sessions in the WA Park Arboretum - Telehealth Payment: - I am an Out of Network provider, meaning I am not paneled with any health insurance. - I do provide monthly Superbills, which act as a receipt that you can submit to your health insurance for possible partial or full reimbursement. - I also contracted with Lyra, the Employee Assistance Plan. You can inquire with your employer HR to see if they offer benefits through Lyra.
