I moved to the desert from New England, starting out at Middlebury College in the Green Mountains of Vermont, eventually getting my Masters in Social Work at ASU. Initially I worked in programs related to families, peers (particularly teen girls), and foster care. I became interested in the impact of trauma on development, getting trained in the Neurosequential Model (Dr. Perry- brain states), then moving into somatic approaches (certified in Vinyasa flow yoga). Additionally, I find the most effective methods for change are derived from understanding the origins of our coping mechanisms from childhood, and then learning how to "reparent" ourselves as the wise adults we are (and can be). I use an eclectic approach with each client. Nothing in life is a "one size fits all" so I prefer to use methods that are client driven as we get to know one another. I look forward to working with you and helping you make effective, lasting change.
