My clinical training was completed at The Renfrew Center of Charlotte, NC where I worked with clients individually, in groups, and in family therapy sessions to address eating disorders and other co-occuring concerns. I hold a Master of Arts in Clinical Mental Health Counseling at Wake Forest University. I earned my Bachelor of Arts in Psychology with minors in both Sociology and History from the University of Mississippi. I also hold a 200 hour Register Yoga Teacher certification. I utilize evidence based modalities such as CBT, DBT, and ACT to best support clients in intervening on unwanted and harmful behaviors. With formal education in sociology I also think the social context we exist within matters. For this reason I utilize humanistic orientations such as feminist theory, person-centered approaches and through a disability liberation viewpoint. I identify as an anti-diet, health at any size clinician. Navigating the world with a chronic illness myself allows for me to share lived experience with my clients and navigating complex systems that can be difficult and overwhelming. You are not alone- we are walking together.
