I approach therapy from a relational framework, as well as with an awareness of the systems and cultural structures we are all existing within and how that affects our experiences and perspectives. I am informed by psychodynamic theory that asks us to explore how our interpersonal relationship dynamics, especially in childhood, have shaped both our conscious and unconscious views of the world and ourselves. I also pull from IFS which explores our consciousness as system made up of our compassionate Self and the many parts of us that we have built up as protection throughout our lives. My therapeutic style is one of warmth, humor, and empathy. I will challenge you gently when I notice parts that may no longer be serving you, while holding space and compassion for the self-protective reasons they are there. I always welcome discussion about our own relationship and your experience of therapy and working with me. You can expect me to show up as a whole and open person with my own thoughts, feelings, and identity; with experiences through training and life that help inform my curiosity. I endeavor to always work from a non-pathologizing, culturally sensitive, sex/kink/poly/body affirming lens. A majority of my work is within the 2SLGBTQAI+ community and specifically with trans and gender non-conforming adults. I also have experience working with individuals seeking help through difficult relationships, persons living with chronic pain, and those processing grief and trauma. I strive to foster a space that is affirming and supportive; where it feels safe to ask questions and explore difficult feelings
