My journey to being a therapist was inspired early in my sophomore year of high school while I was sitting in my school counselor's office listing off my struggles. Many of my peers were struggling with the same concerns I had (depression, anxiety, low self-esteem, difficulty managing daily tasks, emotional dysregulation, family conflict, relational stressors), however, many were not able to access timely, affordable, consistent, individualized, high-quality care. The need for high-quality and accessible adolescent and young adult mental health services is at an all-time high in Southwest Florida. Throughout my graduate education, I completed a 2-year internship with FGCU's Counseling and Psychological Services providing individual and group therapy to students enrolled in bachelors-level and masters-level programs. I worked primarily with LGBTQIA+, trauma, and grief within group settings, facilitating expressive arts activities to support clients in making meaning of their unique life experiences while connecting group members shared perspectives and feelings. Upon graduating, I began working with Pace Center for Girls in Lee County, FL to provide trauma-informed, strength-based, and gender-responsive care to girls ages 11-19 who meet at least 3 risk factors consistent with Adverse Childhood Experiences. I have successfully implemented Botvin Life Skills Training, Seeking Safety substance use intervention services, Girl's Circle groups. Through these opportunities I obtained my LMHC in August 2024 and have been working with Pace as of April 2026 (current).
