Introduction

Sarah provides warm, supportive therapy for children, teens, and individuals navigating anxiety, depression, neurodivergence, emotional regulation, and life challenges. As a Clinical LPC Intern, Sarah provides counseling under clinical supervision through Illuminate Play Therapy & Counseling while continuing to develop her skills and experience as a clinician. Sarah has a particular interest in working with children and developing her specialization in play therapy. She recognizes that children do not always have the words to communicate what they are experiencing and believes therapy should meet them at their developmental level. Through play, creativity, expressive activities, and relationship-based approaches, Sarah provides children with opportunities to communicate, process emotions, build skills, and feel understood. Sarah is also interested in supporting neurodivergent clients, including those with ADHD and autism, through an affirming approach that recognizes individual differences in communication, sensory needs, emotional regulation, attention, and ways of experiencing the world. Her approach is collaborative, strengths-based, and individualized. Sarah works with clients experiencing anxiety and depression to better understand their emotions and patterns, develop coping and regulation skills, strengthen confidence, and work toward meaningful goals. Working with a Clinical LPC Intern provides an affordable option for quality mental health care while also benefiting from the additional guidance and oversight of clinical supervision.
