Introduction

Maryland Mindfulness & Mental Performance Counseling was founded to support high-achieving individuals and athletes navigating pressure, overthinking, and the internal demands of performing at a high level. I’m Sarah Spund, a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor and former professional athlete. I understand firsthand what it feels like to perform under pressure—when expectations are high and there’s no room to fall apart. My work combines therapy, EMDR, and mental performance training to help you understand your patterns and change how you respond in real time. This isn’t just about talking through things—it’s about processing what’s underneath and learning how to show up differently when it matters most. I focus on helping you make sense of your experiences through validation and clarity, while also challenging you when needed—so you’re not just understanding yourself, but learning how to respond differently when it counts. Sessions are offered virtually to clients across Maryland.
