Introduction

Challenging experiences can knock us off course. As a result of traumatic experiences, difficult relationships, or significant life changes, we may find ourselves navigating heightened states of anxiety or the depths of depression. Or, perhaps we just need to be seen and heard as we attempt to process what we have been through. In these instances, therapy can be a refuge: a place to explore, observe, make sense of, find meaning in, and heal from pain we have long been carrying. I'm here to walk alongside with you towards a newfound state of peace and acceptance, to help you move forward and reconnect with the sweetness of life. In joining clients on their journey of personal change and healing, I strive to foster self-trust and strengthen inner knowing through building deeper self-awareness. Together, we will make space to uncover and release patterns that are no longer serving, cultivate compassion for the self in addition to others, and facilitate exciting transformations. My Treatment Approach: I provide individual psychotherapy sessions to adults using an integrative approach. Integrative therapy draws from various therapy models, techniques, and methods. Having an eclectic and collaborative style allows me to tailor the therapy according to the needs and preferences of each individual. It also provides an array of tools for us to work with. I blend techniques from cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), mindfulness based practices, psychodynamic therapy such as AEDP, emotion focused techniques, somatic therapy, attachment and trauma informed therapy, and the creative arts therapies. This means that our work together will be a combination of deep exploration and learning practical tools like healthy coping skills to enhance well-being, break through stuck patterns, improve relationships, and heal from trauma. What I Specialize In: My specialty areas include anxiety, depression, complex trauma, empathic overload, high sensitivity (HSP), women's mental health, and working with artists and creatives. I also specialize in intergenerational patterns, issues impacting first and second generation Americans, as well as bicultural stress and identity. Embracing diversity is a value that is close to my heart. I am an LGBTQIA+ ally. It is of deep importance to me to endeavor to create a safe, warm, and accepting space for all. Group Art Therapy Sessions: In addition to individual therapy sessions, I provide group therapy sessions using art therapy interventions to address anxiety, stress management, depression, and relationship issues. New research has shown that creative arts therapies help alleviate symptoms associated with depression, anxiety, and chronic pain. Art therapy techniques also aid in problem solving, increase coping skills, and cultivate deeper self-reflection. Engaging in group therapy helps one to build connection and lessens aloneness. Online Sessions: All sessions are offered via telehealth to clients who live in the following states: California or New York. Teletherapy has been shown to be just as effective as in-person therapy. Telehealth offers the convenience of being in the comfort of one's own space and avoiding long commutes to an office. As a provider who is licensed in both California and New York, individuals who are bicoastal or who travel often between these states are able to have appointments in both locations. About Me: I have been a licensed clinical psychologist for 18 years. I'm a graduate of Rutgers University (GSAPP) and New York University. I have worked in various settings from community mental health in city hospitals to college counseling centers on campuses, before landing in private practice. And I have had the privilege of working in renowned institutions such as Pratt Institute and Columbia University Medical Center. Outside of doing work that I love, I spend my time at the beach, in art museums, and exploring new places through travel. Contact Me: If any of this resonates with you, please feel free to reach out and schedule a complimentary 30 minute consultation. I look forward to connecting!
