Introduction

Helping You Move From Survival to Healing At SAF Counseling and Consulting Services, PLLC, therapy is about more than talking through the past. It’s about helping your mind and body reconnect so you can move from simply surviving to living with greater clarity, stability, and peace. My approach is trauma-informed, integrative, and body-based, using therapies designed to help the brain and nervous system process experiences in a deeper and more lasting way. I draw from evidence-based modalities including EMDR (Somatic & Attachment-Focused), Accelerated Resolution Therapy (ART), Brainspotting, Internal Family Systems (IFS), Ketamine-Assisted Psychotherapy, Heart-Centered Hypnotherapy, Rapid Transformational approaches, Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP), and Inference-Based CBT (I-CBT). I specialize in treating trauma and obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD) together, because intrusive thoughts, compulsions, and trauma responses often overlap and are frequently misunderstood. Treatment is collaborative, thoughtful, and tailored to each individual. I work with individuals navigating: * Trauma and complex trauma * Severe dissociation and Dissociative Identity Disorder (DID) * Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder (OCD) * Body-Focused Repetitive Behaviors (BFRBs) such as hair pulling or skin picking * Anxiety, panic, and intrusive thoughts * Chronic illness, chronic pain, and medical trauma * Perinatal mental health and major life transitions * High-stress professions and performance environments I am especially passionate about supporting Veterans, active-duty service members, first responders, and law enforcement officers. As an Army Veteran, First Responder, and Law Enforcement Officer, I understand the culture of service, the pressure to remain strong, and the invisible impact that high-stakes work can have on the nervous system and sense of identity. My goal is to provide a space where those experiences can be understood without needing to explain the culture behind them. With virtual therapy available across Texas, Washington, Colorado, and Oregon, care is designed to be both accessible and personalized. If you are ready to begin a new chapter, I invite you to explore the site or schedule a consultation. You don’t have to carry this alone. When You’ve Been the Strong One for Too Long Many of the people I work with are used to being the strong one, the person others rely on, the one who keeps going no matter what. Over time, however, the nervous system begins asking for attention. You may notice: * Feeling numb, disconnected, or emotionally shut down * Being constantly on edge, hyperaware, or unable to relax * Losing time, experiencing memory gaps, or feeling detached from your body * Intrusive thoughts or compulsions that feel impossible to quiet * Repetitive behaviors like hair pulling, skin picking, or nail biting * Panic or sudden overwhelm that seems to come out of nowhere * Deep exhaustion connected to chronic illness, chronic pain, or medical conditions * Difficulty explaining reactions that feel automatic or outside your control These responses are not signs of weakness. They are often the nervous system’s way of adapting to overwhelming experiences. Healing begins when those patterns are understood rather than judged. Who This Work Is For This work is for individuals whose lives or careers have required them to carry more than most. For those living with complex trauma, dissociation, OCD, or BFRBs. For individuals navigating chronic pain, medical trauma, or long-term health conditions. For Veterans, service members, first responders, and law enforcement officers carrying the unseen weight of their work. For people whose nervous systems have been in survival mode for far too long. Here, your experiences are met with respect, clinical expertise, and genuine understanding. No judgment. No shame. No minimizing or trying to explain what you have lived through. Just steady, trauma-informed care focused on helping your nervous system find safety, your mind regain clarity, and your life move forward.
