Introduction

You've spent a long time managing everyone else's emotions and you're starting to wonder what it would feel like to actually put yourself first. That's exactly the work I do. I'm Savanna Martin, a Licensed Professional Counselor offering telehealth therapy to adults across Virginia, DC, Colorado, Utah, and Florida. My work centers on the long-term effects of unhealthy family and relationship dynamics. A lot of the people I work with are self-aware, motivated, and have already tried to "figure it out" on their own. They know something is off but they just haven't been able to change it yet. That's usually where therapy becomes useful. I specialize in helping adults navigate parentification, the fawn response, anxious attachment, emotional enmeshment, and the lasting effects of conditional love dynamics. These experiences often show up in adulthood as chronic people-pleasing, self-doubt, difficulty with boundaries, or relationship patterns that keep repeating no matter how hard you try to break them. My approach is attachment-based and relational, combined with Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT). We look at where the patterns came from and what it would actually take to change them, not just manage them. I take a direct, grounded approach to this work. I'm not here to hand you a coping skill and call it a day. We'll get into what's actually driving things and build from there. I'm currently accepting new clients and offer a free 15-minute consultation. I'm in-network with Optum, Aetna, Cigna, Anthem BCBS of Virginia, BCBS of Massachusetts, and CareFirst BCBS. Cash pay rate is $150 per session.
