Welcome to my profile! My name is Savannah Johnson, and I am a Licensed Professional Counselor Associate supervised by LaVonne Dyste, LPC-S. I started my counseling career after working in education and seeing the need for mental health services for families and children. I consider myself a counselor for all seasons because of the diverse background of my clinical work. My background in education has given me extensive experience working with children and families. I especially enjoy helping children navigate challenges such as anxiety, phobias, anger, and adjustment difficulties. I also hold a Prepare/Enrich certification, which allows me to provide personalized support for premarital couples, long-term committed couples, and married couples as they strengthen their relationships and prepare for the seasons ahead. My experience also includes working with grief, adult anxiety and depression, post-divorce adjustment, major life transitions, ARFID, and trauma. My counseling approach draws from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Person-Centered Therapy, and EMDR-informed strategies. I enjoy helping clients identify practical tools and strategies they can apply in everyday life, while creating a counseling environment where they feel heard, understood, and supported. Finally, I would be happy to integrate Christianity into counseling. Please do not hesitate to ask any questions!
