About Me I understand that reaching out for help isn't easy. I've been there myself, and I know exactly what it feels like to keep checking the clock and wonder if I'm making any sense to a complete stranger. My goal is to provide a supportive, understanding environment where you can work through challenges, develop effective coping skills, and move toward meaningful change. I’m a military veteran and counselor with over 19 years of experience in mental health and substance use treatment. I began my counseling career at the VA in Houston, working in trauma recovery with veterans from the Vietnam, Korean War, and World War II eras. Throughout my career, I’ve worked in a variety of settings, including psychiatric inpatient care, residential treatment, intensive outpatient programs, employee assistance programs, university counseling, and vocational rehabilitation at the Michael E. DeBakey VA Medical Center. I’ve also completed specialized peer support training for PTSD through Bluebonnet Trails Community Services in Killeen, Texas. I have extensive experience supporting veterans, first responders, medical professionals, college students, and individuals from diverse backgrounds. Since establishing my private practice in 2020, I’ve continued to expand my training in Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Inference-Based CBT (I-CBT), and grief counseling.
