I grew up in both the city and suburbs of Los Angeles, raised in a Black household that taught me the importance of community, storytelling, and resilience. These roots shape how I show up as a therapist—with deep respect for the systems we come from, the identities we hold, and the stories we carry. My professional path has taken me through nonprofit and social justice work, especially within school systems, where I supported individuals navigating identity, marginalization, and complex life transitions. Over the years, I’ve lived in several parts of the country—from the West Coast to the Mountain West and back again. Each move brought major changes: new cultures, climates, relationships, and systems to learn. These transitions deepened my understanding of what it means to start over, to build new support networks, and to hold both grief and growth at once. They’ve made me especially attuned to the challenges of navigating change—whether it’s moving cities, shifting identities, or stepping into new phases of life. In our work together, I honor that change is hard, and I help clients move through it with more self-trust and groundedness. I’ve provided individual and group counseling to adults and older adults in community mental health, with a focus on anxiety, depression, racial trauma, life transitions, and stigma. I draw from mindfulness, narrative therapy, psychodynamic theory, and family systems to create a supportive, personalized approach for each person I work with. I believe therapy isn’t about “fixing,” but about reconnecting with your truth, your strengths, and your capacity for change. I see each person as the expert of their own life. My role is to walk beside you—offering curiosity, care, and gentle challenge—as we explore the patterns that shaped you and the future you want to grow into. I lead with kindness, deep listening, and a belief in the power of perspective-shifting. I believe that some stories were handed to us, some were forced on us, and in therapy, we get the chance to reclaim authorship and imagine something new. Clients often describe me as warm, thoughtful, honest, and a calming presence. I also bring my whole self into the work—I’m a sci-fi, fantasy, tarot and anime lover, a singer, and someone who believes music and creativity can help us access parts of ourselves that words sometimes can’t. I often integrate those elements into therapy when it feels right. Healing doesn’t have to be heavy all the time; it can also be joyful, surprising, and deeply human. I’m passionate about helping clients feel grounded, empowered, and supported—not just in surviving, but in creating the life and relationships that feel most aligned. I believe that therapy isn’t just about individual healing it’s about helping people return to their communities with more clarity, strength, and softness. My hope is to offer a space where you feel seen, gently challenged, and consistently supported as you become your truest self.
