My name is Serena. I graduated from Southern Oregon University with my Master's degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling in 2017. I achieved my license in 2021. I have a strong focus in working ideally with older teens (16+) though will see younger teens (13+) on a case by case basis. I also work with transition-aged youth (18-25) and adults. I worked as a mental health counseling in a juvenile detention center for six years and am familiar working with with youth and adults who are on probation/parole. My therapy style is flexible and adaptable as far as what works best for you and what it is you are trying to achieve. I will support you as a therapist should and I will also be upfront and honest with you but I won't ever BS you with the "frilly" and "fluffy" type of therapy. Some people don't like that but with my clients that I have worked with, for the majority, they say to me "It's the reason I like you." Ideally, I prefer in-person appointments but I understand that this is not always possible for some people. I have also been trained in EMDR for 5+ years and counting. If you are seeking EMDR, while I know it has been effective virtually, I personally will only do EMDR in-person at this time.
