Many of us relate to ourselves and others with a nagging sense that we are not enough, that we neither project nor embody the person we want to be. We operate from the stories we tell ourselves about ourselves and that others tell about us – and often, these lenses focus on our perceived deficiencies, mistakes, and shame-filled moments. We tend to be our own harshest critics. In our work together, I will help you identify the stories that shape your life. We will explore how these stories support and challenge how you want to show up for yourself, your relationships, and the world. The therapeutic relationship is, in itself, a powerful means of connection and healing, and I strive to create relationships of trust, warmth, and respect with my clients. I also believe in the healing power of humor and have been known to crack a corny joke or two. A social justice lens informs my work, as does the expansive potential of nature & writing. I offer online therapy to adults of all ages, from college students to octogenarians. I have a particular interest in working with women’s issues, self-esteem, anxiety, and life transitions. Due to the constraints of telehealth and my limited availability, I do not work with people who are suicidal or in acute crisis.
