Introduction

As a Licensed Mental Health Counselor, I'm committed to helping individuals learn how to manage anxiety, stress, & life transitions. My work focuses on creating healthy coping skills, reframing ineffective behaviors, and finding solutions, particularly within the BIPOC and LGBTQIA+ communities. *Offering telehealth sessions in FL and CO* When we reach a crossroads in life, we might feel stressed or anxious because of the life transition. Together we can collaborate to heal stuck points. This might include things such as a change in career, relocation, changing family dynamics, multicultural concerns, adjustment to college, racial/inequality stressors, concerns around sexual orientation, or reaching personal milestones. Regardless of the reasons, I use a strength-based approach. In sessions we will work as a team to introduce perspectives that will help you connect with your true self. You deserve to feel heard, find your voice, and overcome obstacles through empowerment and compassion. I believe in taking a collaborative approach to helping clients reach their goals. I’m passionate about creating resources for individuals struggling with anxiety and life transitions, and am interested in participating in workshops, speaking engagements, webinars, and podcasts. If you’d like to schedule a consultation or appointment with me, please send an appointment request or email to sgacel@gmail.com. I look forward to hearing from you. I also accept many insurance plans in both Florida and Colorado. Background: 2013: Master of Science in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Stetson University. 2007: Bachelor of Science in Psychology from The University of Central Florida. 2005: Bachelor of Science in Molecular Biology & Microbiology from The University of Central Florida. For fun I enjoy astronomy, am a divemaster, working out, and spending time with my family and adopted greyhound, Cosmos. I am also an Analog Astronaut, and a NASA/JPL Solar System Ambassador. My passion project incorporates both the worlds of counseling and space in the form of the Overview Effect, which helps us find our purpose in life and our place in space.
