Hi, I’m Sharlyn McGary, a Licensed Professional Counselor with a passion for supporting adolescents, women, and families through life’s transitions. I spent 20 years as an educator before becoming a therapist, and that experience taught me how to connect with young people and understand the real challenges families face in school, at home, and in their communities. I hold a Master’s in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Lamar University (2023) and a Bachelor’s in Interdisciplinary Studies from the University of Houston–Clear Lake (2005). My therapeutic approach draws from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), and Solution-Focused Brief Therapy. These modalities help clients manage emotions, develop practical coping strategies, and take meaningful steps toward change. I believe you are the master of your own destiny. My goal is to walk with you through your healing process—helping you move from simply surviving to confidently thriving.
