Introduction

Hi! My name is Shay, and my pronouns are they/them. I’m a Licensed Associate Counselor (LAC) in the state of Arizona with a BS in Psychology and an MS in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Capella University. I care deeply about building a life that feels meaningful, and in my spare time, I enjoy photography, volunteering with queer community organizations, and exploring new places. As a non-binary and neurodivergent individual, I know what it’s like to move through a world that wasn’t built for you, and I’m committed to creating a space where you don’t have to hide, mask, or explain your existence. I work with clients ages 12 and up, with a special focus on supporting LGBTQ+ individuals, particularly trans and gender non-conforming folks. I also bring lived experience and cultural competence to working with polyamorous clients and those navigating nontraditional relationships, identity development, and life transitions. My approach is trauma-informed and person-centered, which means I don’t see my role as telling you what to do. I’ll listen deeply, collaborate with you, and support you in exploring what healing, growth, and authenticity look like to you. Whether you're seeking individual therapy, parenting support, or wanting to strengthen your relationships, I’m here to help you feel grounded, supported, and empowered. I also provide gender-affirming referral letters in alignment with WPATH standards of care, and I hold that process with care, respect, and a deep belief in your autonomy. Being part of your journey is a privilege I don’t take lightly, and I’d be honored to walk that path with you.
