Introduction

Hello! I'm Shelbie Michaels, MA, LPC-S, and I'm glad you're here. Taking the first step toward therapy can feel overwhelming, but you don't have to navigate life's challenges alone. I am a Licensed Professional Counselor and Board-Approved Supervisor with extensive experience working with children, adolescents, adults, couples, and families. My approach to therapy is compassionate, collaborative, and individualized. I believe that every person has a story worth understanding and that, even during life's most difficult seasons, there is room for growth, healing, and hope. Throughout my career, I have worked with individuals and families navigating anxiety, depression, relationship challenges, family conflict, trauma, parenting difficulties, and significant life transitions. I also have specialized training as a Certified TBRI Practitioner, Certified Nurturing Parent Program Facilitator, and Certified Adoption Competent Therapist, with experience supporting foster and adoptive families and those navigating complex family dynamics. I believe therapy should be a safe, judgment-free space where you feel heard, understood, and supported. My goal isn't to tell you how to live your life, but to help you better understand yourself, recognize your strengths, work through challenges, and develop the tools you need to move forward. Whether you're feeling stuck, overwhelmed, navigating a difficult relationship, or simply ready to invest in yourself, I would be honored to walk alongsid
