Welcome and thank you for being here. It is not always easy to reach out and seek support, and I'm glad you're taking this step. My name is Shohreh (pronounced "Shore-A") and I am a psychotherapist who supports individuals facing the challenges of work-related stress, anxiety and panic, life transitions, relationship concerns, and the often complex experience of parenting. My approach brings together Somatic Psychotherapy, Internal Family Systems (IFS), and relational therapy. This means we will pay attention not just to your thoughts, but also to how your emotions and experiences live in your body. Somatic work helps us tune into things like tension, restlessness, or numbness as meaningful signals from within, rather than just symptoms to get rid of. It invites the acknowledgement of the physical sensations into the informational process. With IFS, we gently explore the different parts of your beliefs and perspectives. For example, there may be a part that feels anxious at work, a part that wants to connect with others, a part that feels overwhelmed by parenting and so on. These parts often carry wisdom, pain, or protective roles. Together we approach these parts with curiosity and care, helping you relate to yourself in a more compassionate and integrated way. Relational therapy means the connection we build in the therapy space is important. Healing often happens in relationships, so I bring presence, honesty, and care to our work together. This can support you in exploring your patterns in a safe and respectful space where you can feel seen and understood. Together, these approaches can support deep and lasting change by helping you better understand yourself in a more holistic way. Whether you are feeling overwhelmed by daily life, stuck in patterns that no longer feel helpful, or navigating a time of change, therapy can offer a space to slow down and reflect. In our work together, we make room for curiosity, self-awareness, and a deeper understanding of your inner experience. This process can open up new possibilities for how you relate to yourself and the world around you. If this resonates with you and you feel ready to explore what therapy might offer or simply want to learn more, please click on "request an intro call" to schedule your free 20 minute initial phone consultation with me. I welcome the opportunity to connect and see how I can support you. For additional information, feel free to visit my website at https://www.therapywithshohreh.com
