Introduction

Hello, my name is Shonda Phillips-Young. I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and Clinical Supervisor. My four-legged friend is Leonardo (Leo) Young. He is my therapy assistant and loves cuddles and belly rubs. Thank you for taking the time to get to know us better. I am excited to invite you to embark on a transformative journey towards a more balanced and enriched life, where serenity and personal growth await. Education and Experience: I hold a bachelor’s degree in Social Work from Texas A&M University-Central Texas (2016) and a master’s degree in Social Work from Texas State University (2017). I received my clinical social work license in 202. My educational background provides a strong foundation for my professional practice. Since 2019, I have been wholeheartedly devoted to the mental health field, utilizing my extensive experience in long-term care to offer comprehensive support to my clients. My diverse clientele ranges from young adults aged 18-80, including adolescents aged 13-17, children aged 10-12, veterans, couples, and incarcerated individuals. I specialize in addressing a wide array of challenges, including post-traumatic stress disorder, depression, anxiety, and ADHD, among others. Therapeutic Approach: My therapeutic approach is dynamic and integrative, combining cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT), schema therapy, and solution-focused techniques. This customized methodology allows me to create personalized treatment plans tailored to your unique needs and circumstances. In our initial session, we will work together to identify your goals and aspirations, laying the groundwork for a trusting and supportive therapeutic alliance. My counseling style is direct, warm, and interactive, as I firmly believe in treating everyone with the utmost dignity, empathy, and understanding. Your decision to seek help is commendable and signifies a significant step toward greater happiness and fulfillment. I am genuinely grateful for the opportunity to accompany you on this transformative journey. My passion lies in fostering a secure and supportive environment where you can express your thoughts and emotions without fear of judgment. Together, we will navigate your challenges and work diligently toward achieving your aspirations. I am dedicated to empowering you throughout the therapeutic process, helping you uncover your inner strengths and resilience. I eagerly look forward to the possibility of joining you on this transformative path toward healing and growth.
