Introduction

Thank you for visiting. I am a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor (LCPC) offering services in Maryland and California (LPCC). I counsel LGBTQIA adults who are autistic, plural, and/or survivors of childhood abuse. We usually address issues related to complex trauma, dissociation, gender identity. Clients sometimes report feeling alone in relationships or not knowing why they do things. Maybe once effective ways of protecting yourself are now preventing the connection and growth you want. I value getting to know you, learning your strengths, and identifying skills that support you in seeking safety and healing. If you are finding your life or relationships disrupted by patterns from your past, this is something we could work on in a therapeutic relationship. Clients come to me in different places of awareness; and questions about somatic symptoms, gender identity, or memory loss are common. As a therapist I approach every person as unique and enjoy the process of getting to know you. In this way we can work together to identify strengths and move towards changes you would like to make. My training is grounded in relational psychodynamic therapy. I implement techniques such as EMDR, somatic processing, and clinical hypnosis to supplement talk therapy. I completed my PhD (2016) and MEd (2011) in Counseling at the University of North Texas, and I previously worked as an Assistant Professor of Counseling at the University of North Carolina at Charlotte. I've published 9 peer-reviewed research articles in professional counseling journals and delivered twenty-one presentations at international, national, and state conferences. Before that I counseled adult and adolescent clients in community, residential, and diversion programs in Dallas, TX. I am currently accepting clients, sliding scale available. I also offer consultation to therapists/health professionals in areas of trans-feminism, DID and dissociative disorders; also on a sliding scale basis.
