Socorro (they/them) holds a Masters of Social Work from Eastern Michigan University and has worked in the field for over two decades. They specialize in working with youth and young adults, as well as the LGBTQIA+ community. Socorro works collaboratively with individuals interested in identity exploration, relational growth, and gaining insight in an affirming and culturally responsive environment. Their approach to therapy places identity at the center and not the margin. Leading with an intersectional-feminist, anti-oppressive, humanist and LGBTQIA+ affirmative lens Socorro strives to create an open, straight-forward, empathic, client centered therapeutic relationship; ensuring that clients feel fully seen, respected, and heard. They believes there is no “one-size-fits-all” in therapy and aim to tailor their work to each individual’s needs, helping clients work towards growth and goals as defined by the client.
