Introduction

Hello, I am Spencer, your friendly, safe space providing Licensed Professional Counselor, working by way of virtual practice in Connecticut. Life, as we know, does not come with a map or user manual nor does it come without its challenges. We may feel lost, down, panicked, worried and ultimately trip ourselves up on habitual patterns that leave us feeling stuck, impacting our mood, relationships, and overall well-being. The good news is we have the ability to heal naturally by altering our brain chemistry through a process called Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR). This evidenced - based therapeutic approach allows us to access, activate and alter neural networks in the brain allowing for traumatic memories and anxiety to be less intrusive, activating and bothersome in our lives. I utilize this modality for treatment in conjunction with Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), a type of psychotherapy focusing on the interconnectedness of our thoughts, feelings and behavior. It may be helpful to meet with someone who can supportively co-navigate, explore, challenge, and ultimately encourage us as we seek our own true north.
