Human behavior when placed in context has ripples yet has quiet the flow, beauty, and reason to it. Sometimes behaviors manifest merely for the chronic quest of hanging on to survive, staying attached, or perhaps adopting humor to make others smile. The science of human attachment has interested me since I could remember. Attaching to folks around us, to ourselves, and to the world, is a profound and intimate journey that shapes multiple entities of our internal world. Navigating psychological trauma and creating a space for those with neurodivergence is the bulk of my psychotherapist career. I, myself have autism and certainly know the struggles of attempting to understand how this world works through social frames. And how it immensely impacts the psyche when what we organize then changes. Neurodiverse Therapy LLC was built to create a space of advocacy and inclusion. Types of neurodiversity include ADHD, Autism, OCD, CPTSD, etc. While not uncommon to have, conditions such as anxiety, depression, social anxiety, etc. are too treated while respecting the unique ways of thinking. My practice style is simple yet effective. I take pride in my values and morals to remain grounded in the golden rule: To treat others how I would like to be treated. I listen to listen; not listen to speak. Time and attention are always given. Humility is my centerpiece. My undergraduate academia was largely based in the realm of neuro with the study of how humans actually come to feel emotions. I'm a believer of understanding the total concept of processes, thus fueled my passion for social-emotional studies. This area is my special interest. After receiving my master's degree, I served folks 5-years old to end-of-life in settings of community mental health, juvenile detention centers, therapeutic foster care, private practice, geriatric wellness-assisted living facilities, and integrated behavioral health primary care. Before becoming a therapist, I served 14-years in the U.S. Army in various entities to include active duty, Reserves, and the National Guard to which I then went to serve as a contractor with the U.S. Navy and U.S. Air Force. I am a lifelong learner and wholeheartedly enjoy remaining receptive to others' teachings. I remain very curious.
