Somatic and Attachment Therapy for New Parents and Complex Trauma | LGBTQIA+ and BIPOC Affirming Who I Work With I work with adults and parents who are going through big life changes, especially pregnancy, postpartum, or early parenting, as well as people who are carrying the impact of past trauma. Most of the people I work with are strong, capable, and used to being the one others rely on, but inside they feel overwhelmed, on edge, or disconnected from themselves. You might notice that you have a hard time relaxing, you overthink in relationships, or you react in ways that do not feel like you. How I Help In our work together, we focus on helping your body and nervous system feel safer and more steady. We look at how your past experiences and relationships shaped the way you respond now, especially in parenting, partnerships, and everyday stress. I use body based and attachment focused approaches to help you understand what is happening in your system and to build new ways of responding that feel more calm, clear, and grounded. Over time, the goal is for you to feel more regulated, trust yourself more, and show up in your relationships with intention instead of survival mode. I am trained in trauma informed care, attachment based therapy, nervous system work, and mental health support for the different transitions to being a parent from preconception to parenting. Inclusive and Affirming Care I provide an affirming space for LGBTQIA+ individuals, diverse gender identities, nontraditional family structures, and Black and BIPOC clients. Your identity, culture, and lived experience are respected and welcomed as part of your healing.
