Introduction
As a Licenced Independent Mental Health Practitioner (LIMHP) in Nebraska, I work with adults in order to help them focus on their strengths and become more successful at their jobs, school, relationships, and at home. My specialties include working with clients who struggle with anxiety, depression, and ADHD. I also work with clients dealing with college transitions, developmental disabilities, gender identity, grief, men's issues, and relationships. I provide my clients with counseling environment where they feel safe, supported, and comfortable with sharing the details of their lives. This is cultivated by a clinician who is authentic, an active listener, uses appropriate self-disclosure, humor, provides structure, gives specific feedback, and validation of a client's thoughts, feelings and actions. During sessions, a process of self-discovery, goal setting, and knowledge and skill building takes place. This occurs through open discussion, session activities, homework, and the providing of relevant resources. Techniques such as use of books, activities, worksheets, and are also used to facilitate the counseling process.
