Before I became a therapist, I was in a profession where people shared with me their most compelling, honest and emotional stories. What I learned has never left me: everyone has a story worth telling and everyone has a desire to be truly understood. My approach is grounded in psychodynamic and person-centered therapy. We look at your early experiences and relationships, because the past has a way of quietly shaping the present. I bring unconditional positive regard, genuine empathy, and honesty to every session, not as clinical techniques, but as the genuine conditions in which change is possible. I have deep experience working in substance use and recovery, and helping people build meaningful lives beyond addiction. Also, I specialize in teen and adult adoptees navigating identity and belonging, as well as people facing life after cancer, ADHD, grief, aging, relationship struggles (and divorce), and LGBTQ issues. Mostly, though, I deal with you.
