Welcome! I’m a licensed clinical social worker and medical anthropologist with more than 15 years of clinical experience. I approach therapy with warmth, curiosity, humor, and a genuine interest in understanding the whole person—not only the symptoms or problems that brought them to therapy. My background in clinical social work, psychology, and anthropology shapes how I understand emotional well-being. Together, we consider your individual experiences as well as the relationships, cultural influences, communities, and larger systems that have shaped your life. I believe therapy should honor the complexity of who you are while also helping you create meaningful and practical change. My approach is collaborative, client-centered, and guided by your goals and values. I often begin by asking thoughtful questions and taking time to understand what is already working, what feels stuck, and what you would like your life to look like instead. From there, we identify achievable steps that can help you move toward the changes you want to see. I may gently challenge patterns that are no longer serving you, while respecting that you remain the expert on your own life. I draw from several evidence-based approaches, including solution-focused brief therapy, cognitive behavioral therapy and CBT for insomnia, acceptance and commitment therapy, dialectical behavior therapy, and motivational interviewing. Rather than applying one method to everyone, I adapt our work to your needs, preferences, strengths, and circumstances. I also use humor when it can help create connection, perspective, and acceptance—without minimizing the seriousness of what you are experiencing. I hold a bachelor’s degree in psychology; master’s degrees in social work, psychology, and applied anthropology; and a PhD in anthropology. I am independently licensed as a clinical social worker in Texas, Louisiana, Oklahoma, Vermont, New Mexico, and Florida. I am also approved to provide clinical supervision in Texas and Vermont.
