Introduction

Hi, I'm Steve Dreesman, MA, LCPC, and owner of Overland Park Therapy Services. Starting therapy can feel like a big step. Many of the people I work with have spent years carrying stress, anxiety, grief, or relationship struggles on their own. From the outside, they often appear to have it together, but internally they feel stuck, disconnected, or overwhelmed. Therapy offers a place to slow down, better understand what's happening beneath the surface, and develop practical ways to move forward. While I work with adults from all walks of life, I have a particular passion for helping men. Many men are expected to stay strong, provide for others, and navigate life's challenges without ever being taught how to process emotions or ask for support. Together, we work to build emotional clarity, healthier relationships, resilience, and confidence without losing the strengths that matter to them. My approach is collaborative, practical, and grounded in evidence-based care. I draw from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), EMDR, Gottman-informed interventions, and other approaches to help clients understand the patterns keeping them stuck and create lasting change. My goal is not simply to help you feel better in the moment, but to help you build the insight and skills needed to navigate life's challenges long after therapy ends. Whether you're facing anxiety, depression, trauma, grief, life transitions, relationship concerns, or simply feeling like you've lost your footing, I'd be honored to walk alongside you. Together, we'll create a space where you can be honest, challenged, and supported as you move toward the life you want to build.
