Susan (they/she) believes people feel safe and understood when they are listened to with care and met with support. Their own path, as adoptee, queer, gender non-conforming person, hospice chaplain, pastor, caregiver, and even race car driver has taught them to be inclusive of all persons and to be present with people through challenging times. Susan works with adults navigating anxiety (including general, health, social, or panic-related), depression, OCD, grief, identity or relationship shifts, life or career transitions, loss (in its many forms), and trauma (including religious trauma). They have a particular passion for supporting LGBTQIA2S+ individuals, older teens-through-older adults, caregivers, and anyone experiencing seasons of isolation or being overwhelmed. Susan provides therapy through Reflective Psychology under the supervision of Alexa Sorensen, LMSW. Remote sessions offered across MI and also in-home sessions in Grand Traverse and Leelanau counties. Therapy with Susan is collaborative with an emphasis on supporting you to feel listened to, safe, and empowered in ways that align with your values and goals.
