Reaching out for therapy and finding a new provider can feel intimidating. It's so important you have taken the first step toward taking care of your mental health. I have been in private practice, working with clients with chronic illness for over 15 years and love my work. I specialize in treating clients with multiple sclerosis, rare neurological conditions, autoimmune diseases like Lupus, Rheumatoid Arthritis, Sjogrens, Elers Danlos, etc. My work includes helping clients address adjustment issues, feelings of anxiety and/or depression, and processing grief around issues of loss. Coping with the daily stressors of life, like working, parenting, communication in relationships, while managing physical and emotional symptoms or exacerbations, can feel overwhelming and often times paralyzing. I am here to help you. I have a trauma informed approach to therapy that is nonjudgemental and action oriented. I believe in the bio psych social model of health and use psychodynamic theory, cognitive behavioral therapy, and ACT therapy to move you closer to your goals. The main objective of therapy is to create awareness and curiosity about your emotions and behavior which in turn will allow you to identify and process your feelings, and learn new ways of coping. These new coping strategies will help you manage emotional reactions in the moment and allow you to create closer emotional connections.
