Reaching out for therapy and finding a new provider can feel overwhelming. I applaud you for taking the first step. I have been in private practice for over 20 years and love working with clients of all ages. I specialize in helping people with mood disorders such as anxiety and depression. I have a specialization in working with clients with chronic illness and helping individuals navigate their journey through the adjustment process to wellness. The clients I treat are coping with chonic illness and adjusting to life changes whether that is a recent move, new job, loss of employment, end of a relationship, empty nest, or recent loss of a loved one. I have a nonjudgemental and compassionate approach to therapy, that is trauma informed. I am an active therapist and will use my insights to help you move toward our agreed upon goals. I use an eclectic approach that includes trauma informed -CBT, psychodynamic theory, cognitive behavioral therapy, acceptance and commitment therapy and is client centered. The goal of therapy is to help create awareness and curiosity about your emotions and behavior. Therapy will allow you to identify and process your feelings, and learn new ways of coping. These new skills will help you manage emotional reactions in the moment and allow you to create closer emotional connections.
