At the heart of my counseling approach is the belief that each of us has the capacity to heal, grow, and create meaningful change in our lives and relationships. I believe that healing happens in the context of safety, curiosity, and connection. My role is not to "fix" anyone, but rather to create a space where people can better understand themselves, reconnect with their own resilience, and move toward the life they want to live. It is a privilege to walk alongside my clients as they discover their own strengths, reconnect with themselves, and build lives that feel more authentic and fulfilling. My approach is client-centered and trauma-informed, grounded in neuroscience and polyvagal theory. I tailor therapy to each person's unique needs, using modalities of EMDR, parts work, self-compassion, mind-body awareness, psychoeducation, co-regulation, and Feedback-Informed Treatment. Together, we work at a pace that feels safe and intentional, recognizing that healing is not a linear process and that lasting change begins with feeling understood. For clients who have recently experienced a crime, I also provide support in navigating the judicial process when needed. ~ I also facilitate workshops and provide consultation to increase professional and personal resilience and mitigate compassion fatigue among helping professionals in the Grand Valley. ~ Research shows that rapport and relationship between a practitioner and client are integral to the healing and growth processes. In order to help potential clients see whether I might be a good fit for their needs, I offer a free 1/2 hour consultation to provide a sense of who I am and how I practice.
