Hi, I’m Sydney. I am a Clinical Mental Health Counseling Intern (LCMHC-I) currently completing my master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling. I work under the supervision of a licensed social worker while gaining experience supporting individuals and families through a variety of emotional and behavioral challenges. Before entering the counseling field, I worked as a special education behavior support teacher with children with autism and other behavioral and emotional needs. That experience shaped the way I approach therapy today. I understand how overwhelming big emotions and behavior challenges can feel for both kids and families, and I aim to create a supportive space where clients feel understood while learning practical strategies that help in everyday life. I especially enjoy working with children, teens, and young adults who are experiencing anxiety, self-esteem challenges, school stress, life transitions, or difficulties in relationships. I also enjoy supporting parents who are trying to better understand and connect with their child. My approach to counseling is warm, collaborative, and down to earth. I draw from person-centered and cognitive behavioral approaches to help clients understand their thoughts, emotions, and patterns while building skills for emotional regulation, confidence, and healthier relationships. My goal is to create a space where clients feel safe, heard, and supported while working toward meaningful change. You don’t have to have everything figured out before starting therapy. If you’re thinking about reaching out, I’d be happy to connect and see if working together feels like a good fit.
