Hi everyone! My name is Sydnie and I am a clinical mental health practicum student. I am currently pursuing my Master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling at the University of North Carolina at Charlotte. I am passionate about treating clients who have experienced trauma, insecure attachment/relationship struggles, and dissociation. For treatment, I prefer to pull from a variety of techniques such as somatic, attachment theory, internal family systems, and acceptance and commitment therapy. I work from an integration perspective, meaning I view unhealed trauma as a collection of disintegrated pieces, which can lead to a lot of confusion, pain, and struggles within relationships with yourself and others. Healing from trauma means going on a journey to integrate these experiences within yourself and learning how to cope, ground, communicate, and ultimately feel empowered and in control. Additionally, I am a Covid-continuous practitioner. For the safety of myself and all clients, I wear a respirator-grade mask in session. I am supervised by Dr. Justina Floyd, our Training Director.
