I didn’t grow up thinking I’d be a therapist. At 17, I was pregnant, just trying to survive more than I could name. I was carrying pain, pressure, and responsibility far beyond my years. But I kept going. ..And now I’ve built a space for people who’ve had to do the same. My son, my sun, was one of the reasons I kept rising, even when everything around me felt heavy. Becoming a mother didn’t erase the struggle, but it gave me light when I needed it most. I was raised by a single mother who held it down for four of us with little more than faith, grit, and determination. We didn’t have much, but we had love and survival instincts. I became a first-generation college student, navigating systems I was never taught to understand. That experience shaped me deeply. I know what it means to fight for a future you can’t fully see yet. I know what it feels like to be strong because you had no other choice. Later came my daughter, my sunflower, and another chapter of a life I once couldn’t fully picture. My son and my daughter each bring their own light into my world. Being their mother matters deeply to me, including the work of building a healthy family and deciding what I want to carry forward. My garden grew from concrete. That’s part of why I believe in making room for people whose lives haven’t given them much room to grow. Your story may look nothing like mine... But if you’ve had to figure things out as you go, carry more than people realize, or build a life without much of a blueprint, there’s room for you here. Where you started doesn’t have to decide everything that comes next. I’m Tal’Meisha Frontis (she/her), a Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor Supervisor (LCMHC-S), Licensed Clinical Addiction Specialist (LCAS), and National Certified Counselor (NCC). I’m also the founder of Keke’s Sunflower Garden Therapy & Counseling PLLC. I named this practice in honor of my sister, Keke, who passed away too soon. She battled chronic illness and mental health challenges with more grace than most people will ever understand. Even while navigating her own storms, she poured into others. Her reminder to “take care of yourself” lives at the heart of this work. The “Sunflower” in KSG’s name comes from my favorite flower. They turn toward the sun, and that means something to me. I’ve had seasons where I needed every bit of light I could find. The “Garden” comes from knowing we don’t heal in isolation. We need people. Yes, even those of us who are used to saying, “I got it.” Around here, I call our clients bloomers. You don’t have to show up already blooming. Come tired, come unsure, come without knowing where to start. Some days are muddy, and some days feel like nothing is growing. You still belong in the garden on those days. I offer virtual therapy for children, teens, and adults across North Carolina. I work with people navigating trauma, anxiety, grief, life transitions, family cycles, identity exploration, relationship stress, and the everyday weight of trying to hold it all together. Maybe you’re the person everyone leans on, but you don’t know who to turn to when you need support. Maybe you overthink conversations, feel guilty saying no, or keep finding yourself in patterns you’re trying to leave behind. You may be getting through your responsibilities while feeling worn out underneath it all. I also work with people who may not know what to call what they’re feeling...they just know they’re tired, overwhelmed, or stuck. You don’t need the right words before you reach out. I’ve supported clients impacted by domestic violence, DSS involvement, incarceration and reentry, and those who have been silenced or overlooked by the systems around them. There is room here to talk about what happened, how it’s affecting you, and what you want for your life now. Therapy with me is real. You don’t have to be perfect, polished, or put together. You can cry, laugh, lose your train of thought, or say, “I don’t even know where to start.” We can start there. I bring my full self into the room, and I hold space for you to do the same. My approach is relational, culturally aware, and shaped by both clinical training and lived experience. Your family, culture, identity, and experiences matter here. I believe healing happens when people feel seen, heard, and not judged for their process. Together, we’ll work to understand what keeps you stuck and practice ways to respond differently. That may mean setting boundaries without spending the rest of the day feeling guilty, understanding why certain experiences still affect you, working through grief, or figuring out what you need beyond simply getting through the day. Whether you’re in survival mode or seeking space to grow, we’ll start right where you are. I also offer clinical supervision for provisionally licensed therapists (LCMHC-As) across North Carolina. Supervision with me blends honest feedback, skill-building, reflection, and care. There’s room to ask questions, work through uncertainty, and develop your own clinical voice. I know what it feels like to grow into this work while also still learning how to care for yourself. You can become a strong clinician without losing your voice or your values. The garden is open to anyone seeking support, healing, and growth. You don’t have to meet a certain diagnosis or be in crisis to belong here. If something in you says this might be the right space, you are welcome here. Reach out to ask questions or take the next step toward scheduling. All therapy sessions are offered virtually to clients throughout North Carolina. KSG accepts select insurance plans. Please contact the practice to confirm participation with your specific plan. Private pay options are available, and a limited number of sliding scale slots are offered based on financial need. If affordability is a concern, I welcome a conversation about what feels manageable for you. “Come as you are. Grow how you need. Take care of yourself in between.” 🌻 Coaching and guest speaking services are also available. 🌐 Website: simplyksg.com 📧 Email: kekessunflowergarden@gmail.com Please note: Email is not a guaranteed secure form of communication.
