I didn't start in a therapy office. I started in a classroom. For years, I worked as a middle and high school teacher, watching students carry weight that had nothing to do with algebra or grammar — weight that came from home, from loss, from relationships that had gone sideways in ways nobody was talking about. Those years taught me something I've never forgotten: the people most in need of support are often the ones least likely to ask for it, and the most skilled at appearing fine. That observation followed me through work as a consultant with a coaching firm serving high-stress business leaders, and then into community mental health, where I saw it again — capable, driven people arriving at a breaking point that had been quietly building for years. New Epoch Studio is the practice I built in response to that pattern. I work with individuals, couples, and families navigating anxiety, depression, trauma, and the relational strain that accumulates when life gets heavy — whether that looks like a marriage under pressure, a family that's struggling to find its footing, or a person who has simply been carrying too much alone for too long. My approach draws on Narrative Therapy, Narrative Exposure Therapy (NET), and Strategic Therapy, which means sessions are purposeful, collaborative, and grounded in the belief that you are not your diagnosis, your history, or your hardest season. I have a particular understanding of the world that high-pressure careers create — military service members and their families, defense and aerospace professionals, and others whose work demands a level of performance, composure, and discretion that doesn't always leave room for the harder conversations. If your career has shaped the way you think about asking for help, you're not alone in that — and this is a space built with that reality in mind. I serve clients across the full range of life circumstances — professionals in high-demand careers, couples at a crossroads, families in transition, and individuals ready to do something different than what they've been doing. If discretion matters to you, it matters to me. New Epoch Studio is a cash-pay practice by design, which means no insurance involvement and no third-party access to your care. The name New Epoch Studio reflects both our clinical philosophy and the language of our clients. In aerospace, defense, and technology, an epoch marks a decisive phase shift — a turning point from which everything is measured differently. That is exactly what we offer: a space to mark the beginning of something new. If something here resonates, I'd welcome a conversation.
