I'm Tarianda Ruston, a licensed clinical social worker with more than 25 years of experience walking alongside children, teens, adults, and families. Much of my career was spent as a school social worker, where I sat with kids in the hardest moments of their day and learned that people don't need to be fixed — they need to be heard, and they need a plan they can actually follow. I work with clients ages 3 through 50 on things like ADHD, anxiety, depression, mood changes, grief and loss, bullying, school struggles, behavior concerns, and the stress that comes with big life transitions. I also help parents and children find their way back to each other when the relationship feels stuck, and I work with college students and young adults navigating independence, relationships, and figuring out who they're becoming. My style is warm and practical. You can expect a space where you're not judged, where we name what's really going on, and where you leave with something useful — a skill, a shift in perspective, or simply the relief of not carrying it alone. I'm licensed in Maryland and Washington, DC, and I offer evening and Saturday appointments. If you're ready to start, I'd be glad to meet you.
