Hello! My name is Taylor, and I have been working with Canfield Counseling for one year. Counseling was my first interest and passion, therefore once I graduated high school I went straight to college to receive my BA in Psychology and continued to receive my MA in Clinical Mental Health Counseling. I decided to dedicate my work to counseling because I believe that each person is a unique individual on their own journey. The path may not always be clear, so the objective is to help discover and harness the inner resources you already have to navigate your life’s journey and if needed, help find new tools to guide you towards clarity and hope. My therapeutic approach integrates pragmatic and family concepts, focusing on cognitive behavioral therapy along with many others. I believe that negative or unwanted thoughts can significantly impact one’s life, as those thoughts influence our feelings and behaviors. Additionally, I recognize the importance of the family unit’s impact on an individual. Children are impressionable and can be influenced by their environment. I find it valuable to process and understand your upbringing and how your experiences have shaped you into the person you are today. I also believe that your past can guide you as you live in the present and make choices to achieve your future goals. Above all, I believe therapy is a journey conquered through teamwork. Although change is often uncomfortable and scary, we must make the choice to welcome change because it will allow us to grow. My goal as a counselor is to create a safe, welcoming environment where individuals can discover themselves and make sense of the world and their place in it.
